Merry Christmas
Well, today is the big day. It’s been quite nice here with my parents and Josh and Cathy. I’m currently feeling somewhat defeated by the food, however. And we haven’t had dessert yet, actually. Perhaps some coffee is in order. I guess that coffee is pretty much the answer to any situation.
Distribution of presents was fun, as always. Next year I’m going to have sorted out what I’m getting people sufficiently ahead of time that I can actually give them the presents on Christmas morning, rather than simply giving them notes telling them that whatever I’m getting them is on the way. I guess I’ve been busy enough at work lately to have that be a reasonable excuse.
I’ll try to do better next year. I guess I said the same thing last year, though.
In any case, I hope people are having fun-filled Christmas day type activities. And to Ben who is stuck in Siberia: Dude, that just plain sucks. But in thirteen days you’ll be having a celebration involving copious quantities of vodka, presumably?
I think that a lengthy discussion of the different New Year’s Eve celebrations in different places around the world is due sometime soon. Maybe tomorrow or the day after I’ll talk about the pyromaniacal tendencies of Danes when it comes to this time of year.
