I’m seriously delinquent in updating this blog, but seeing as no-one reads it, I guess it’s not too big an issue.
Summer in Ithaca has been hot and sticky. I find myself staying at work just because there’s AC there. Of course, since I spend some of my time there doing unproductive things like writing this blog, I suppose it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m being more productive.
My life has recently begun to revolve around two things: The High Voltage system here at work and ultimate. It’s summer league time here in iaua-land, so I’m playing games twice a week and pickup twice a week. Because there’s a competetive league this year, I’m actually beginning to learn how to really play. I’m definitely the least experienced player on the team, but I don’t feel entirely useless and I’m definitely learning a lot.
Next weekend (as in the 23rd and 24th) I’ll be playing at my first tournament ever, RUB in Rochester. We’re almost certainly going to get beaten a lot, but it should still be a lot of fun, I hope.
The high voltage system is in even more of a state of frenzy at the moment because we’re trying to get a new patch panel designed and made as soon as physically possible, so that is taking all of my attention work-wise. Eventually I’ll be starting on thesis work. I hope that is sooner rather than later, basically.
