How to destroy the Earth

The following is courtesy of Aaron Williams (the author of the comics Nodwick and Full Frontal Nerdity). He also has a nice blog where he puts up a nice variety of links to all sorts of random things, the most disturbing of which is undoubtedly the Star Wars pet clothing line. Anyway, the most recent entry has a nice link to a site dedicated to a nice detailed and comprehensive discussion of how one would/could destroy the earth. It’s nice to see someone take the time to properly assess various ideas and options.
However, I’m not so impressed by the fact that the first method listed involves strange matter. Perhaps I need to read the papers on this stuff in detail but it seems rather unlikely to me, I would have to say. Oh well, he does put it as being extremely unlikely to work, at least.
