Ultimate season

is upon us again. I’ve been enjoying playing pickup a couple times a week the last few weeks and have broken in my cleats again. They seem to be beginning to fall apart in some places, though, so it looks like I’ll have to invest in some new ones at some point. Overall I can’t complain, though, as I’ve had them for close to three years now.

This weekend promises to be beautiful weather-wise, which is good, but campus and Ithaca in general will be absolutely swamped with people here for graduation. I’m not sure what Beth and I will be doing, but I suspect it will involve staying away from campus and collegetown as much as possible.

I had a couple of things done to my teeth yesterday, which generally went well, but I think I need to go back and have them take off a bit of the filling in one or two places; it feels a little odd when I close my teeth. My dentist isn’t in on Fridays, though, so I’ll wait until Tuesday to call and see about dropping by to have him take a look at it. Dentistry sounds like a pretty nice lifestyle in some ways, I have to say. Being able to choose to work four days a week sounds awfully nice. Perhaps when Beth is done with her residency, we’ll be able to settle down to a more relaxed lifestyle. For the moment it’s not like we can arbitrarily decide to slow down the pace of things. Well, this summer should be slower and more relaxed, but once the semester starts up again, things will become moderately crazy I am sure.

I’m trying to decide what to think about the verdict in the Enron trial. I’m obviously glad that they were found guilty (although that didn’t ever really seem to be in serious doubt, but having listened to Democracy Now this morning, I’m left with the feeling that there are a lot of other people who managed to avoid being held accountable at all. This company did essentially gouge Californians out of nine billion dollars, and no-one seems to be trying to make anyone pay that back.
