Decorated Tree

This took a little bit longer than expected, but here are some pictures of the tree in its decorated state.

At night, so you can see the lights well.

We estimated that there are about seven or eight hundred lights on the tree altogether. Note that this picture, and the following one, both start about five feet off the ground, so it can include the top. I am going to try to stitch together a couple of pictures to make a picture that includes the whole thing but this requires some experimentation with my camera and is currently a little beyond my skill.

Taken during the day, it lets you see the decorations better.

The second picture doesn’t really show the lights off very well, or even really show the angel at all, but she’s still very much there.

Some measurements have been done regarding the size of the tree and it is now measured to be just about exactly four meters, or 13 feet tall, including the base and angel. The angel is really only able to fit at all because the tree is sticking into a sky-light and thus not hitting the ceiling. This really is the biggest tree that can possibly fit in the house.

Like I said, I’ll try to stitch together a picture that will include the base as well so you can appreciate the full enormity of this thing. It has been suggested that this Christmas will be known as the Christmas of stiff necks from always craning to look up at the tree. And I think there’s something to it.

Also included here is a picture of Beth’s exquisitely wrapped presents. Note how she wrapped the cylinder, for instance, which is a present for Mary. That is some meticulous attention to detail there.

The presents Beth wrapped.

Ohhhh pretty! Looks like you need to be talented to decorate a tree like that. The stithced together picture will be cool.

Also, I just noticed a mini smiley face on the bottom of your blog page.
